Supermarket holdup; people threatened at gunpoint. A tsunami hits a coastal resort. Waves wash over people, crash through glass and into buildings. Multiple shark attacks; people pulled underwater, mauled. A man hacks a corpse's hand off. A man is speared with a javelin, stabbed with a meat hook. A shark is hit on the snout with a meat tenderiser. Animals are shot, tasered. Drowning, screaming, shoplifting. Earthquake tremors, explosion, sparks, debris. Mass devastation of buildings seen. Blood/gore: People/objects ravaged by sharks. Lots of blood in water, on heads, faces, hands. Blood pools, bloody objects. Dismembered limbs, rotting flesh, gaping wounds. Flesh eaten. Bloody grazes, object protruding from leg. Animal and many human corpses.

    Kissing. Swimwear.

F-words, s-words, bloody, p*ss. Name-calling. Genre and gender stereotyping. Religious exclamations.

Shark attacks, natural disaster, being trapped, feeling helpless, relationships, conflict.

Birds (seagulls, magpies, crow), flocks of birds, dogs, seahorse, fish, sharks, sea-snake, jellyfish, helmet crabs. Hanging slabs of hooked meat. Helicopters. Broken engagement. Underwater camera angles.

Tense, claustrophobic. Clever idea, good casting, well paced, engaging characters, good score, high body count. Enjoyable version of a well established formula.

Could be scarier. Ordinary acting, unremarkable special effects. Gimmicky, clichéd, dumb.
