Characters are hit by objects, pursued, covered in paint/feathers, thrown to the ground, swallowed/spat out, lassoed, slammed into a cart, mocked, throat-grabbed, kicked, dragged, caught in a stampede. A character drops two dogs over a high cliff (they are saved). A barn is set alight, objects smashed/crashed into/rammed/crushed, a marketplace is damaged. A bird is slammed against a wall/crushed by a falling creature. A donkey injures his leg (caught in rope). Characters fall over high cliff ledges/down a well, dangle precariously. Barking, screaming, panic, arguing. Reference to king killing all children (the Massacre of the Innocents). Torture mentioned. Characters say "We're gonna die", "Someone's gonna die". Blood/gore: None.

(None): Pregnancy. Newborn baby. Kiss on forehead. Close up of donkey bum. Bum-wiggling.

Poop. Name-calling (old-timer, rotten, good-for-nothing, silly, crazy/dumb as a box of rocks, nightmare wearing a helmet, useless, crazy-eyed, bad dogs, etc). Religious references.

Christmas Star of Bethlehem, the birth of Jesus, religion, faith, friends, immaculate conception, bravery, Mary and Joseph, prayer, the Three Wise Men, forgiveness, angels, nativity, ambition, teamwork.

Wedding feast. Baluchistan pygmy jerboa, camels, pigeons, sheep, cows, cat, donkeys, horses, chickens, dogs, goats. Lightning, thunder.

Kid-friendly, decent, good-hearted, innocuous, playful, charming, amusing, contemporary, animal-centric, fun, entertaining, glossy, serviceable. Spirited voice work, silly humour, brief/flavourful cameo by Kris Kristofferson, never gets pious/gushy/preachy, some lovely images, a cute idea.

Uneven, clumsy, derivative, dull. Unremarkable writing/voice acting/storytelling, uninspired/basic/cheap/simplistic animation, awkward wedding feast scene, heavy-handed dialogue/song choices.
