People are pushed, shoved, hit in the crotch, hit by objects. A mother tries to manipulate her daughter by saying "that's why Moms kill themselves". A woman falls off a bar. Parents arguing, kids throwing tantrums. Objects get knocked over, smashed, thrown. Stealing. Screaming, arguing. Long painful death, [birds] will be dead within the hour, murder me in the middle of the night, blow up our car mentioned. Blood/gore: None.

A child describes the sounds overheard by a woman having sex. A married couple begin foreplay in the bedroom, erection visible beneath sheets. An older woman sneaks away with a young man (sex implied). A man gets his crotch area waxed. Kissing (f/f), motorboating, bum-slapping, stripping, straddling, grinding, bum-grabbing, chest-licking, lap-dancing. Nude male (genitals obscured/large penis shape visible beneath clothing). Cleavage, very skimpy clothing, nightwear. Discussions about breasts, vaginas, waxing, sex, etc. Genital warts, sex life, bang each other, tickle his balls, boner, wax pussy, broke my c*ck, butthole mentioned.

Drugs (people share a marijuana cigarette). Alcohol (champagne, wine, beer, spirits, drink-spiking, hip flask). Bar setting. Gambling/gambling addiction, hooch, getting drunk, drunk and horny, heart pills, drugs, I'm stoned mentioned.

F-words, s-words, a-words. Name-calling (Sasquatch, Betty White, b*tch,  sh*tty mom, weird, whore, idiot, nasty, degenerate gambler, terrible mother, worst mom, bossy, controlling, vain, pain in the ass, psychotic, trainwreck, etc). Religious references and exclamations (oh God, Jesus, what in God's name, I swear to God, oh Lord, etc). Lots of references to genitals/sex. Racial/cultural insults.

Friends, mother-daughter relationships, Christmas, forgiveness, high expectations, helicopter parenting, family, therapy, Christmas decorating, bribes, dodgeball, carol-singing, Kenny G.

Dead father, dead husband, divorced parents mentioned. A woman says she has cancer/diabetes/strep throat/gallstones. Church, bar settings. A mother pokes her daughter's bully to imply she is getting fat. Camel, dog, birds. Lobster, ham eaten. Fur worn. Farts mentioned. Spitting. Vision beneath end credits.

Diverting, funny, lively, vulgar. Appealing/likeable cast, scene-stealing/standout/welcome/glistening performance by Christine Baranski, dirty laughs, rapid-fire dialogue, some earned laughs, commendable comic timing, a little heart.

Formulaic, familiar, cautious, conventional, safe, dispiriting, conservative, uninspired, choppy, mechanical, contrived, overstuffed. Functional filmmaking, less outrageous/wild, obvious/tropey mother-daughter conflicts, trite themes, broad/sitcom-y/sloppy material, thin characterisation, cheap laughs, predictable sexual references, bathroom humour, forced resolution, dated/consumerist view of Christmas, Kunis is too flawless/unruffled to be relatable.
